Today, we will have our consultation with the client to prepare for the photoshoot. Our client is getting headshots for her counseling business. We want to learn what we can from our client about what she wants and also share with her what will happen during the session in order to set expectations and ensure we deliver what she wants/needs. A quick consultation will help with this and will help guide our creative design as we get ready for the session.
In the past, I've used the document below as a way to guide my consultations either face-to-face or on the phone. Sometimes the conversation shifts and we go "off script", but this is a good guide. As you can see there are some questions that ask about families--I'm predominantly a family portrait photographer--but for sessions for individuals, I skip those or re-frame them.
Take some time to READ THIS ARTICLE about why consultations are important.
We will meet today at 12pm at Uncle Sams. Please come with:
Pen/pencil + paper/notebook
Your camera
1-2 questions you would like to ask during the consultation
Watch this video as we prepare for our session tomorrow.
See you at 12!
